Stop the Tidö Agreement
The government cooperates with the Sweden Democrats and pursues racist policies
Today, Sweden is governed by the governing parties Moderaterna, Kristdemokraterna and Liberalerna in co-operation with the Sweden Democrats (with a neo-Nazi history) through the Tidö Agreement. It is the Sweden Democrats' proposal that takes up the most space in the agreement.
The Tidö Agreement is racist. It portrays people with a foreign background as Sweden's biggest problem. It normalises and legitimises racism.
The Left Party is opposed to the Tidö Agreement, its anti-immigration and racism.
Why is the Tidö Agreement anti-immigrant and racist?
- It will be much, much more difficult to immigrate to Sweden, whether as refugees, family members or labour migrants.
- There will be fewer rights for asylum seekers, and asylum seekers will be forced to live in special detention centres.
- It will also be much more difficult to stay in Sweden if you have immigrated.
- There will be increased internal border controls and DNA will be collected and stored in searchable registers.
- Introducing search/visitation zones where the police will be able to stop anyone at any time without suspicion of a criminal offence.
- Enhancing the possibility to carry out body searches, search people's bags and empty their digital media during internal border controls.
- Introducing a reporting obligation if any authority encounters people who may be undocumented.
- Making it more difficult to obtain Swedish citizenship and easier to revoke both residence permits and citizenship.
- Permanent residence permits will be abolished, and it will be much easier to expel immigrants on the grounds of "bad behaviour".
- Limited social and economic rights of migrants and introducing more coercive measures for asylum seekers.
The Tidö Agreement is contrary to fundamental humanistic values and conventions which Sweden ratified, as well as the Swedish constitution.
